I can attest to the moddability of the 6th gen and earlier Civics. I installed a complete Hornblasters train horn kit under the hood. I took out the air intake resonator box and put in the 2 gallon air tank in between the battery, the fuel filter, the air intake manifold and the engine. It just plopped right down in there, sitting on the front suspension subframe. the 4 trumpets are in the front bumper. The Viair 400c compressor is where the air intake resonator box was.
I still have the car as my daily drier and it sure is fun. 229,000 miles on it with an automatic transmission, working fine.
I installed a 19mm rear sway bar on it and good all season tires and thanks to the suspension it really goes around corners on dry pavement and tends to hold on with bumpy turns.

A great car, never getting rid of it.
